Crisis Intake Counselor
(Part Time & Weekends)

Located in the shelter, this position provides direct services to shelter program participants. This position provides intake, support counseling, information, referrals, and related services to shelter residents.

Duties:

- Abide by all Agency policies, procedures, practices, and support the Agency’s mission.

- Crisis Line – Answer 24-hour crisis line for domestic violence & sexual assault victims in need of emergency shelter and services.

-Direct referrals to the appropriate community services, maintain information and referral records.

- Responsible for shelter program participant intake and case file.  

- Provides individual support counseling for shelter program participants.

Therapy Session

Outreach Advocate

One position available in Santa Rosa County outreach office, located in Milton. This position provides direct services to domestic violence and sexual assault survivors who are not currently residing in FavorHouse’s Emergency Shelter.

Duties:

- Provide face-to-face support counseling to victims of domestic violence.

- Provide counseling and crisis intervention for domestic violence victims by phone or video conference calls, offering victim services to the primary victims, as well as referrals and assistance for the victim’s children and dependent family members who were present during the event.

-Conduct weekly support group sessions for non-residential DV survivors.

- Responsible for intake paperwork and case management files for individuals and group sessions with required statistical data, as well as requested/required reports.

- Assists victims in completing applications for victim compensation requests and maintains case records in accordance with statutory requirements for victims of domestic violence.

CPI Co-Located DV Advocate

Co-located at FavorHouse Outreach Centers and Child Protective Investigations Offices in Escambia and Santa Rosa Counties. This position provides training, technical assistance, and support to the Child Protective Workers by helping to develop a protocol to manage domestic violence cases.

Duties:

- Provides crisis intervention and safety planning to survivors of domestic violence involved in the Child Welfare System through telephone interviews, individual, and group counseling.

- Provides information and referral services to survivors of domestic violence and their families, including but not limited to referrals to other FavorHouse Programs; information to obtain a domestic violence injunction, victim compensation, and relocation funds; discusses limits of confidentiality, general Abuse Registry protocol, and safety planning in response to the Abuse Registry Report.

- Assist project partners in identifying family strengths, the full spectrum of the survivors’ efforts to protect their children, and appropriately provide for their physical and emotional needs. Identify and communicate to CPI staff coercive tactics the batterer has used that negatively and adversely impacts the survivor and children.

- Participates in the development of safety plans and/or case plans that enhance survivor and child safety while holding batterer’s accountable for their violence.

- Completes written reports, records and other required documentation of services provided to participants in a timely manner.
